UAE finally lift VISA ban on Nigeria after one year
After one year of VISA ban on Nigeria by the United Arab Emirate (UAE), agreement has finally been reached to lift the ban and focused on working together by both governments.
The Nigeria president Bola Tinubu and the president of United Arab Emirate UAE Muhammed Bin Zayed AI Nahyan in the country September on Monday in Abu Dhabi finally reached an agreement which has automatically lift the VISA ban placed on Nigerians in 2022.
The Statement released by the presidential spokesperson Ngelale Ajuri said that, by this historic agreement, both Etihad Airlines and Emirate Airlines will immediately resume flight schedules in and out of Nigeria without any further delay.
The statement reads:
“As negotiated between the two head of States, this immediate restoration of flight activity. Through this Airlines and between the two countries, does not involve any immediate payment by the Nigerian government.
The recognition of president Tinubu’s economic development diplomacy drive and proposals today presented by president Tinubu to his counter part, an agreed framework has been established.
This will involve billions of dollars worth of new investment into the Nigeria economy across various sectors, including defense, agriculture alongside others, by the investment arms of the government of the United Arab Emirate”
In addition Ngelale Ajuri further noted that president Tinubu has successfully negotiated a joint, new foreign exchange liquidity program between the two governments which would be announced in detail in the coming weeks.
