Two rescued as police raid kidnappers den in Delta State
Two persons has been rescued from the kidnappers den in Delta state, the Delta State police command said its men has rescued two persons at Oghara, West Local Government of Ethiope.
According to the Delta State police spokesperson
Bright Edafe told pressmen that the victims were kidnapped on Wednesday at the Oghara-Ugbenu link road in Warri.
While on Sunday, Bright Edafe, said a joint five of officers and local vigilantes manhunt the Oghara-Ugbenu forest to rescue the victims on Thursday.
Edafe added that the kidnappers, on sighting the joint team, abandoned their victims and fled the forest.
He further said that “the DPO, while acting on credible and technically-generated information, led a joint team of police operatives, anti-cult unit, SIB unit, and the local vigilante groups into the Oghara-Ugbenu forest,”
“On August 31 around 11:30am, the operatives relentlessly combed the forest which forced the kidnappers to abandon the victims and escape. The kidnapped victims were rescued unhurt.”
The Delta police spokesperson said police recovered four live cartridges, one cell phone, an ATM card and three SIM cards.
Edafae said the victims had been reunited with their families, adding that the police would continue tracking the kidnappers until they fished them out.
