The Director, Autonomous Petrol Advertisers Relationship of Nigeria, Waterways State Part, Joseph Obele, has ordered the Central Government to guarantee that the country's processing plants are fixed as expected.
He expressed that the expense of Oil Engine Soul, otherwise called petroleum, would crash underneath N200 per liter should the processing plants become useful.
This takes place in the context of the elimination of the gasoline subsidy, which has resulted in an increase in both the price of fuel and the cost of living.
To resuscitate the country's economy, President Bola Tinubu has vowed to guarantee that the Port Harcourt Treatment facility
starts creation by December 2023.
During a visit to the Port Harcourt Refinery on Friday, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to operating the refinery.
However, Obele stated in an interview with Saturday PUNCH that the product would continue to rise if the government did not provide a short-term solution and expressed concern that the lack of dollars had continued to affect importers.
He said, "Until our country claimed treatment facilities are useful, fuel costs will continue to build because of global factors. However, when our processing plants are utilitarian, Nigerians will purchase fuel under N200 per liter.
