As insecurity escalates in Northern Region of Nigeria Members with several people falling victim of kidnappers that is currently rampant predominantly in the North East and North Central. 

Mean while, the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Katsina state council, have called on the state government to rescue their members that had been abducted by bandits across the state.


In a statement expressed by the State chairman of the union Mannir Suleiman on Friday in Katsina state by, Mr Suleiman said that, 83 members of the union across the state were abducted. 


According to Mannir, out of the number, 65 were released after payment of ransom,16 were killed, one escaped with bullet wound and one was nowhere to be found after being kidnapped, four years ago.


The union appealed to the state government and security operatives to fish out the criminals who committed the evil.


“These people were kidnapped on their way to places of engagements to render services to save humanity when they were kidnapped”


“We are appealing to the government and security agencies as a matter of urgency, to go after the criminals, bring back our members to our fold, with a view to reuniting with their families and general public,” the chairman said.
