Three months after president Bola Tinubu took office, the peoples democratic party revealed that more than 150 million Nigerians are struggling to afford basic meals.

The country is on the brink of disaster, according to the main opposition party, because the government "lacks acceptance and followability of its citizens, creating an atmosphere and a feeling of absence of governance in the region," according to a press release issued in Abuja and signed by its national publicity secretary, Mr Debo Ologunagba.

“it is shocking that over 150 million nigerians can no longer afford their daily meals in the last two months, with families now going to bed on empty stomachs,” the statement read in part.
