Nigeria: NDLEA intercepted South African man with ïllicit drugs
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 29 years old South African man whose name is Erasmus Jean Pierre with illicit drügs.
The South African attempted exporting 2.9 kg of Methamphetamine concealed in his black luggage while trying to board through Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja to the Middle East.
He was trailed by the agency and got arrested on Wednesday August 23, 2023 after thorough investigation he initially denied ever owing the luggage not until his important documents were found.
Suspect, Erasmus Jean was intercepted by the agency operatives while conducting outward clearance of passengers on Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 404 from Capital city Abuja to the Middle East via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
A search was conducted in his black luggage which previously rejected until documents and the whitish powdery illicit drüg was well packed at every corner of the inner luggage.
Mean while, his travel records shows that the suspect arrived Lagos through Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire on Saturday 19th August and later came to Abuja o n Tuesday 22nd, August 2023, right before proceeding to Abuja for his flight out of Lagos, Nigeria.
The NDLEA has continuously issued warnings that they are ready and will always fish out any one involved in the illicit drüg dealings and urge people to desist from the acts or face the wrath of the law.
No doubts the agency has been quite rapid and conducting a successful mission and have vowed to do more and eradicate illicit drügs from the country.
