 Following a confrontation with some yet-to-be-named soldiers, a yet-to-be-identified man was reportedly gunned down by soldiers in the otto area of lagos mainland. 

The soldiers were sent to protect some chinese workers who were doing maintenance work along the railway tracks, but some boys in the area were in loggerheads with the construction workers.

 According to a local newspaper, the boys, some of whom were called "omo onile," were still having problems with the construction workers. According to the article, "the chinese workers have stopped using the police because they feel that the police could not handle the boys." They brought troops,” said lagos state police command public relations officer benjamin hundeyin, who said the railway command was in charge of the area. Hundeyin said, "it is not under our jurisdiction but that of the railway command." The railway command was abandoned after attempts to recruit it.

However, a source in the police force who confirmed the incident expressed displeasure with the alleged atrocities committed by soldiers in lagos.
