Amidst Gabon coup the president of Cameroon Paul Biya 90 years old has reshuffled the country’s defense ministry.


He made the announcement on the social media platforms (X). he made crucial changes on the following, delegate to the presidency in charge of defense, Air Force Staff, Navy, and the police.


President Biya with so much experience had made this change to avert the current trend of military coups in West Africa he had vow that he will not allow such occurrence in his administration.


Recall that president Paul Biya emerged the seat of power in 1982 through the Coup de’tat and had since then be remain in power. 


Shortly after the changes made in by Cameroon, Rwanda Defense Force (RDF) announced on X (Twitter) that president Paul Kagame had approved the retirement of eighty three (83) senior officers in his government.


The RDF further disclosed that Kagame had also approved the promotion followed by appointment of some officers to replace the retired 83 senior officers.


A meeting was also held between the Rwanda Chief of Staff and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Rwanda and the defense attaché of Cameroon were held to discuss ways to enhanced defense cooperation amongst countries.
