Nigerians were astonished after 17 children of a former House of Representatives member, Hon Sani Muhammed Sha’aban on Thursday purchased the expression of interest and nomination forms for their father to run for Kaduna State governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Following an insightful moment speaking with newsmen shortly after obtaining the forms for their father, one of Sha’aban’s daughters, Asmau Sani Sha’aban said the 17 children contributed N50m for the forms.
According to Asmau, She said their father was in the race to improve the socio-economic status of the state and the security of lives and property.
She stressed that the present Government of Governor Nasir El-Rufai has done well for the state but more needed to be done to strive the overall growth of the state.
Alleging that her father Sha’aban, is the best option to take after Governor El-Rufai, because of his networks at the grassroots and national levels as well as his experience, exposure and capacity to deliver good governance to the people.
“I believe he has the tact to tackle the insecurity in the state and improve on the economy,” she said.
Meanwhile, Batta Saleh Hadejia, equally obtained his forms to run for Hadejia/Cafin Hausa and Auyo federal constituency of Jigawa State.
Sha’aban speaking with newsmen shortly after picking his forms at the APC national Secretariat in Abuja, said, “I am confident that I have more capacity and have more network within the presidency and within the party that will help get work done and help my people get development in these areas.
“He (current member) has been there for eight years. I wouldn’t want to start listing what he has done and what he has not, the people will make a choice.
“I am not afraid of anybody. I just want a free and fair process. If we are going on free and fair poll, I know I am going to win, he said.
