Kendrick Lamar's global fans has been speculating about where he goes from here since the release of his extremely personal DAMN., which left us in awe of his powers as a writer and performer. In fact, the post-DAMN. need for fresh music from the Pulitzer Prize-winning artist was so strong that a few observant fans even suggested that another album titled NATION was on the way. Similarly, when K-Dot handled the design and execution of the soundtrack for Marvel's Black Panther, it was seen as only a stopgap until Lamar's next major body of work arrived.

But, after over five years of radio quiet during which Lamar studied hip-ever-changing hop's world from a safe distance, we can finally put the conjecture about when Kendrick– or, as he's now apparently known, Oklama– will make his long-awaited comeback to rest.

Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers will be our first look at what a Kendrick project sounds like within not only a new decade, but a vastly different culture than the one he signed off from back in 2017. It will be released on Friday, May 13th– which we're sure is no coincidence– and will be our first look at what a Kendrick project sounds like within not only a new decade, but a vastly different culture than the one he signed off from back in 2017.

There are few things we can tell for sure because there are few precedents to the album other than his appearances on Baby Keem's The Melodic Blue. What we do know is that #1- Kendrick isn't taking any prisoners and is displaying a level of combativeness last seen in "The Heart Part 4" and #2- he's still as fearless with his experimentation as ever.

We've collated all we know about Kendrick Lamar's first new album in five excruciating years, in the midst of him purposefully leaving fans in the dark and audiences hunting for every crumb of information that may be unearthed.
