IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu's trial has again adjourned by Federal high Court, Justice Binta Inyanko~details below
It was a total controversy and hullabaloo following justice Binta Nyako a Federal High Court in Abuja has on Wednesday adjourned the trial of Nnamdi Kanu the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) till 19 January 2022.
Nnamdi Kanu, who was brought into the courtroom around 9.52am, shortly after his case was called up triggered the refusal of security agents to allow some members of his legal team, especially his lawyer from the United State of America, Bruce Fein, to enter the courtroom.
Meanwhile, the refusal of operatives of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) to allow some of the team of Kanu’s lawyers gain access into the courtroom sparked a walk-out protest.
According to Kanu who pleaded to Justice Nyako that Bruce Fein, who was handling a case for him in the US, was around to witness his trial.
In a statement by Kanu he said “I have an ongoing case in the US. I have not been allowed to see him. He is here to see me and to observe the proceedings."
“He has been to the DSS to see me, but they denied him access to me,” Kanu said from the dock.
When asked by the Judge, if he was ready to conduct the proceedings himself, in the absence of his lawyers, Kanu said no. This made the judge to adjourned the case to January 19 and this is having a negative out-look in the Judicial system in Nigeria.
