INSECURITY: after 32 days in the kidnappers den, Emir of Bungudu Emirate released in Zamfara state ~details below
The insecurity in the Northern part of the country has so far witnessed a dead-end solution ranging from terrorism, kidnapping, Fulani herdsmen down to banditry.
According to report the Bungudu Emirate Council in Zamfara state has disclosed the release of their emir, Sarkin Fulanin Bungudu, Hassan Atto, 32 days after he was abducted by kidnappers.
The emir was was forcefully abducted in mid-September with his police guards on the Kaduna-Abuja highway while they were travelling to Abuja. The gunmen killed another police officer attached to the emir during the incident.
But a statement issued on Sunday by the emirate council did not however say whether the emir was released by the bandits on payment of a ransom, or rescued by security personnel but for the for the similar abductions cases he must have paid ransom
Mean while, a nephew of the emir, who is also an aide of the Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, confirmed the release of the monarch.
“They’re presently in Kaduna with some family members,” he said.
According to the statement by the emir of bungudu,
"the Emir of Bungudu (Sarkin Fulanin Bungudu) Alhaji Hassan Attahiru has regained freedom after 32 days in captivity."
