The Nigerian Labour Congress [NLC] suspended strike after having a meeting with federal Government on Sunday


The meeting which was held in the Presidential Villa Banquet Hall yesterday to dialogue with the NLC on the proposed strike that is supposed to be held today Monday September 28 2020


Minister of Labour and Employment Dr Chris Ngige who presided the meeting that was successfully held, how ever the Labour group still stands on their ground 


That the strike has not been cut off but if Government keep to the Agreement; that is the suspension of the fuel and electricity tariff hike 


And also set up a committee that will be headed by Minister of Labour and Employment Chris Ngige and accompanied by the minister of state for Labour, Mr Festus keyamo 


to look into what the Labour minister suggested to be a conflicting reports justifying the hike in electricity tariff 


But on the long run the new price of fuel will however, will remain in place although the government promised to do more rehabilitation to improve local refining capacity


Also look into rehabilitating the  Nigeria refineries and pursue the CNG alternative aggressively for instance; "providing the CNG mass transit buses across the country


NLC President Ayuba Wabba welcomed the dialogue with government and the resolutions was reached


He confirmed that the planned strike has been suspended and is looking forward to the palliatives promised by the government to Nigerians during the meeting


The palliative are meant to cushion the effects of the fuel price increase.
